Frequently Asked Questions

Will my baby cry?

This was the reason I put off sleep training with my first daughter! But, while there will be some tears, it’s important to know that these are only due to your baby protesting about the change. None of us like change! The important thing to remember is you can of course soothe your baby. This is a gentle programme. Plus, you are teaching them life skills forever. Restorative sleep and being able to fall asleep by themselves is one of the most major skills they can learn and affects everything - their brain, learning, development, wellbeing, happiness, diet and health. In a few days your baby will fall asleep happily without crying.

How long does it take to teach the sleep routine?

All babies are different. For example, a three month old may take a few days, six month a few week and a toddler a few months! It all depends on the age of your child and their temperament. This is not a quick fix though, this is a lifestyle change and a skill your child will have forever. Once you learn the sleep routine you will never change it.

Does it work on the go?

There is a specific module for travelling which goes over how to change the routine when you go on holiday or a longer day trip. I cover overtiredness and how to recreate the ideal sleep environment in a new place, as well as sleeping on the go and coping with adaptations to the plan.

Is the course for any ages?

Yes! Each module is age specific and deals with sleep barriers and challenges you will face according to the age of your baby. I cover sleep from newborn all the way through to five, six or seven years of age.

Module two: 0 - 3 months

Module three: 3 - 6 months

Module four: 6 - 9 months
